What we checked on Sched
The fee per ticket
Sched charges 1.9% plus $0.99 per ticket; the Ultra Plan lowers the percentage to 0.99%.
1.9% (or 0.99% on Ultra Plan) + $0.99 per ticket
Who pays the fees
The organizer decides: a single toggle in the payments settings either passes the ticket fee to attendees or absorbs it inside the ticket price, and the help center's worked example shows the attendee charged by default.
Toggle 'Event planner absorbs the ticket processing fee' on/off to either pass it to attendees or absorb it within ticket prices.
Card processing
Paid registration uses the organizer's Stripe account, but Stripe’s separate rate varies by card and location.
Stripe Transaction Fees: Deducted from Stripe payouts. Varies based on the card type, location, and Stripe account settings.
All-in price at checkout
Sched's own example shows the buyer charged more than the ticket price once the service fee is added, and nothing on its pages states whether that total is shown as the first price a buyer sees.
Registration fee = $10 Attendee will be charged $10.20 (1.99% Sched's service fee)
Free events
Tickets can be created with no price at all, and small free events run on the standing free allowance below fifty attendees without a Stripe connection.
Set price (leave blank for a free ticket).
Nonprofit rates
The help center points nonprofits and educational organizations at a reduced price list, and the pricing page carries dedicated nonprofit, education, government and start-up audience tabs.
We also have reduced pricing for non-profit and educational organizations.
Plans and subscriptions
Plans are sold either per event or as an unlimited-events subscription billed annually, and the plan you pick changes the ticket fee: Ultra halves it.

Donations and tips
Sched's Stripe integration is documented as handling donations and cash gifts alongside ticket purchases, but no page describes a donation form, a donation fee, or a checkout tip prompt.
So that Sched can process payments for your purchases, donations and/or cash gifts, we require a connection to Stripe's platform.
Sales tax on tickets
collects and remits, but only through the organizer's Stripe Tax configuration: Sched states plainly that it does not control tax, and manual tax rates for Canada and the UK must be set up by support.
Stripe can calculate, collect, and remit sales tax/VAT/GST on eligible transactions. ... Sched doesn't control tax; it uses your Stripe configuration.
When you get the money
Money reaches the organizer's own Stripe balance as each ticket sells rather than being held until after the event, with no separate payout request and no Sched payout fee stated.
Registration fee sans any service fee is added to your Stripe account balance immediately. There is no separate process.
Your buyers’ details
Buyer and attendee reports list names and email addresses for export, and the platform's own messaging tool sends bulk email to ticket holders and guest buyers.
Includes a list of all issued tickets, the buyer's details, and any attendee assignments.
Ticket types and discounts
Multiple named ticket types carry their own price, sales window and quantity, with percentage or fixed-amount coupon codes at ticket or order level and hidden tickets unlocked by code.
Create your ticket types (e.g., General Admission, VIP, Workshop Pass).
Questions at checkout
A custom registration form takes your own questions in seven field types including file upload, with conditional follow-ups reserved for the Boost and Ultra plans.
You can add fields for job titles, organizations, or any custom questions relevant to your event.
Registration forms and waivers
The registration form takes custom required fields and a file upload documented for a signed waiver, with first name, last name and email always included.
On the page: Question Type table, 'Upload' row
Timed entry
Capacity is set per session rather than per entry slot, so timed sessions can be capped, and that control needs the Boost or Ultra plan.
Available in the Boost and Ultra plans. Set capacities on sessions to limit the number of attendees who can register
Waitlist
Waitlists are a toggle that lets attendees join when a session is full, with an editable message, but the feature is limited to the Boost and Ultra plans.
Enable waitlists to allow attendees to join a waitlist if the session is full
Online events
A Zoom meeting or webinar link dropped into a session's video stream field gives registered attendees an access button, though Sched warns that link does not open in its iOS app.
Attendees will be able to access your Zoom Meeting or Webinars via a 'Video Stream' or 'Open Zoom' button that will show for attendees in the session…
Sell on your own website
The schedule embeds into your own site so visitors stay on it, but the embed needs the Boost or Ultra plan and during a trial only logged-in admins see it.
This feature is available on our Boost and Ultra Plans. ... Integrate Sched into your own website by using the simple embed code. Your audience stays…
Website builders
native plugin or app for self-hosted WordPress only; everywhere else it is an embed code, WordPress.com is excluded outright, and Squarespace, Wix and Shopify are not addressed.
If you use a self-hosted version of WordPress to manage your event site, use the WordPress plugin to embed your schedule. Wordpress.com: The plugin…
Add-ons
Extra ticket types can be sold as add-ons that each unlock one more session, which covers paid extras but not merchandise or parking inventory.
This works best for tickets meant to act like an add-on, where each extra ticket purchased is meant to unlock one more session.
Refunds and transfers by buyers
Buyers can assign or pass tickets to others themselves from the confirmation email, but refunds run through the organizer's Stripe account and some transfers need Sched support.
A confirmation email is sent to the email address provided. It includes: A link to manage the tickets and assign them later, or An option to assign…
Check-in app
An iPhone and iPad app plus a browser tool scan QR codes and add walk-ups, but it needs the Boost or Ultra plan and Sched tells scanners to stay connected to sync.
This feature is available on our Boost and Ultra Plans. ... Sync devices: Connect to wifi or a cellular network to sync check-ins with your Sched…
Email to buyers
Unlimited email announcements go to attendees, speakers, sponsors and ticket buyers, segmented by role, tag, session or ticket status, and can be scheduled ahead.
Every plan includes unlimited email notifications, and you can segment by role (attendee, speaker, sponsor, etc.) or session attendance.
Works with
Stripe for payments, Eventbrite for ticketing, Zoom for virtual sessions and calendar sync are all documented, while the Zapier and CRM connections Sched advertises elsewhere are not documented on the pages read.
We now have API endpoints that allow any ticketing providers or registration platforms to build an integration with Sched and sync ticket buyers to…
API
Sched publishes a ticket API for outside registration platforms to sync buyers in, with public API documentation it tells organizers to hand to their provider.

Free to start
Small events under fifty attendees run free and ticket fees can be passed to buyers, but anything larger needs a paid plan starting at 250 attendees.
Unlimited free participants For all your smaller events below 50 attendees.
